# What is Hummingbird?

Hummingbird is a platform for case management, investigation, and regulatory reporting in financial compliance. Hummingbird is used by companies in the financial industry to manage workflows and operations in several practice areas, including anti-money laundering (AML), customer diligence, transaction dispute management, compliance testing, and more.

We work with different Know Your Customer (KYC) data providers, watchlist data sources, and transaction monitoring services. Once you license those services, you’ll need a place to bring them all together – that's what Hummingbird is.

For example, when unusual financial transactions are detected by an algorithm, analysts use Hummingbird to investigate the transactions and report the behavior to law enforcement.
