# Why are validation errors preventing me from closing out or submitting a case?

There are certain required fields and inputs that are necessary for Hummingbird and FinCEN to process your cases successfully. Hummingbird helps you quickly identify these errors by showing you a list of errors that need your attention when making a selection at the Decision stage. Click on any field with an orange sign next to it and it’ll direct you to the section needing correction.
